Movies

I rarely watch movies. Most of the time I would rather read, think, watch hockey, or have a good conversation. However, when I do watch movies, I tend to enjoy films with a substantial amount of dialogue and character and plot development. I particularly enjoy period pieces, foreign and independent films, films of a historical/psuedo-historical nature, and those dealing with complex social issues. I can also enjoy films whose primary claim to fame is lush cinematography or some particular innovation in film. Contrary to what some might think, I do have a sense of humor, but I am rather hard to please in regards to the comedy genre and find much of it rather simplistic, overdone, crass, boring, and terribly unamusing. Life already seems funny enough without humanity spoiling it with device. On that note, here are some movies that I have seen and have actually liked for one reason or another.
